| Team Wellington's 2009/2010 season awards night was held Tuesday 18th May at the Red Head Room upstairs at Molly Malones on Courtney Place. Host Jason Pine ably lead the evening's festivities as the awards were presented and acknowledgement made of the efforts put in to making the 2009/2010 season a success for Team Wellington. The ball looped over goalie James Bannatyne for a 2-1 Waitakere victory on the day and a win on the away goals rule after a 3-2 margin to Wellington in the first leg. | Team Wellington and Waitakere United have put on a thrilling game of football that leaves the outcome of this NZFC semi-final on a knife edge. A day that had dawned fine in Wellington took a turn for the worse by the time of the kick-off at Newtwon Park with a Southerly breeze and light drizzle greeting the a Waitakere side that arrived late due to a delayed flight. | Waitakere United and Canterbury United have will clash in the final of the Lion Foundation Youth League next weekend after comfortably winning their respective semif finals this weekend. The tops seeds from the Northern and Southern Conference made the most of home advantage in cross-conference semi finals with Waitakere blitzing Team Wellington 6-2 at Olympic Park in Auckland on Friday and Canterbury firing three unanswered goals past Auckland-Manukau at Christchurch’s English Park on Sunday. | To look at the scoreline in today's national youth league fixture you might be forgiven for thinking that Team Wellington had a dominant afternoon but at half time it was stand-in coach Charlie Howe who would have been the more concerned manager after a first half where Manawatu dominated everywhere except the scoreboard.
